Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-08-26
These terms cover use of PFP-Cropper.com and the cropping tools we provide. They are written in plain language deliberately — the goal is that you can actually read them and know what you are agreeing to.
1. What You Are Agreeing To
By using this website, you agree to use it in accordance with these terms and applicable law. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. There is no other consequence — no account to close, no data to delete, no subscription to cancel.
2. What You Can Do
You can use the tools on this site to crop images that you own, that you have permission to modify, or that are in the public domain. There is no personal-use restriction — you can use the cropped output for personal profiles, business profiles, commercial branding, editorial work, or anything else. We do not claim ownership of what you crop and we do not license anything to us in the process.
You can use the site as often as you like, without hitting any rate limits or usage caps we impose. (Your browser and your internet connection may have their own limits; we do not add ours on top.)
3. What You Cannot Do
You cannot use this site to process images you do not have the right to modify — for example, someone else's copyrighted photograph used without permission. What you do with the tool is your responsibility, and we do not review, verify, or gatekeep the images you crop.
You cannot use the tool to create or process illegal content, including but not limited to child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, or images that facilitate specific harms. Since the tool runs entirely on your device and we never see the images, we cannot enforce this technically — but processing illegal content with the tool is a violation of these terms in addition to being a violation of the law.
You cannot scrape, reverse-engineer, or bulk-download the site with the intent to redistribute the code. The client-side JavaScript is visible in your browser (as is true of any web page), and studying it for personal understanding is fine — but wholesale republishing the site elsewhere is not.
4. Ownership of Output
You own whatever you crop. We do not have any rights to your cropped output, we do not watermark it, and we make no derivative works from it. This is trivially true because we never receive it — the crop happens on your device — but it is worth stating explicitly.
5. Ownership of the Site
The site itself — the domain, the design, the written content on these pages, the way the tool is put together — is our intellectual property (or licensed to us). The open-source libraries the site uses (notably Cropper.js and Tailwind CSS) are licensed to us under their own open-source licenses, which continue to apply.
6. Availability and Uptime
We make no guarantees about uptime, availability, or performance of the site. It is a free tool provided as-is. We try to keep it up, but sometimes hosts have outages, DNS breaks, or CDNs have issues. If the site is down, come back later.
Once loaded, the tool works offline — you can use it without internet access as long as the page and its scripts are cached in your browser. This is not an accident; it is a deliberate design choice for a client-side tool. If you need a cropper you can rely on offline, load the site once and it will keep working until you clear your browser cache.
7. Third-Party Platforms
We reference Discord, Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), TikTok, LinkedIn, and other platforms throughout the site to explain what each expects from a profile picture. Those platforms have their own terms of service and their own privacy policies, which govern how they handle images you upload to them. Nothing we say about those platforms constitutes advice, warranty, or endorsement — we describe observed behavior and public documentation, both of which can change.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any of the platforms we reference. Their trademarks belong to them.
8. No Warranty
The site and the tools are provided "as-is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the site will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure against all threats, or that its output will meet any specific requirements. Use the tool with reasonable judgment for the images you care about — for high-value work (a company brand launch, a wedding portrait) it is prudent to keep the original file and inspect the output before relying on it.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site. Because the tool does not upload, store, or transmit your images, the categories of harm we could plausibly cause are limited — but the standard disclaimer applies.
10. Indemnity
If your use of the site causes us to be sued or fined — for example, if you use it to process images you did not have the right to modify and the copyright holder comes after us — you agree to indemnify us for the costs of defending or resolving that claim.
11. Changes to These Terms
If we materially change these terms, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes agreement to the revised terms.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by generally applicable international consumer-protection principles and, where applicable, the law of the jurisdiction where the site is operated. Disputes should first be raised by email to legal@pfp-cropper.com — most issues can be resolved informally.
13. Contact
