Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-26
PFP-Cropper.com is designed so that we handle the smallest possible amount of your data. This policy explains exactly what we collect, what we do not, and what your options are.
1. Your Images: We Never Receive Them
The cropping tools on this site run entirely inside your browser using the HTML5 canvas API and the Cropper.js library. When you upload an image, it is decoded into your browser's memory and drawn onto a canvas element on the page. When you press Start Cropping, the resulting PNG is generated by your browser's toBlob() API and handed to you as a download. At no point in this pipeline is any pixel data sent to our servers, because there is no server-side component to the cropping.
You can verify this by opening your browser's developer tools (F12 in most browsers), switching to the Network tab, and using the tool with an image. The only network requests you will see are for the page's HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and font/library files — none of them carry image data because none of them need to.
Practical consequences: we do not store your images, because they never reach us. We cannot recover them if you close the tab, because they never left your device. We cannot be compelled to hand them over to third parties, because we do not have them. We do not use them to train models, because we never had them.
2. Accounts and Personal Information
We do not require an account to use this site, and we do not offer one. There is no sign-up form, no login flow, no password to reset. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, or any other personal information as a condition of using the tools.
If you email us at legal@pfp-cropper.com, we will have your email address in the resulting email thread. We use that address only to respond to your message, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
3. Analytics
We use a privacy-respecting analytics service to understand aggregate site usage — how many people visited, which pages, which countries traffic comes from, what percentage arrived from search versus direct. This helps us understand which pages are useful and which need work.
The analytics service we use does not set advertising cookies, does not fingerprint devices, and does not cross-reference visitors across sites. The data we can see is aggregate — visitor counts and page views, not individual user identities or session recordings.
If you use a browser or extension that blocks analytics, the site works exactly the same. Nothing on this site depends on analytics being loaded.
4. Advertising
We display one banner advertisement on the tool pages (positioned below the tool, above the article content) to help cover hosting costs. The ad is served by a third-party ad network which may set its own cookies to select which ad to show and to measure impressions. These cookies are governed by the ad network's privacy policy, not ours.
You can block the ad with any standard ad-blocker extension and the tool will continue to work with no reduction in functionality. We do not detect or discourage ad-blockers.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
We do not set any first-party cookies. We do use localStorage in one small way: to remember your preferred mask mode (circle or square) so the next time you open the tool it defaults to what you used last. This preference is stored on your device and never sent to us.
The ad network we use may set its own cookies as noted above. Your browser's cookie controls apply to those cookies as they do to any other site's ad cookies.
6. Third-Party Resources We Load
The tool pages load a small number of resources from third-party CDNs to keep the site fast:
- Tailwind CSS via jsDelivr — for styling.
- Cropper.js via CloudFlare CDN — the JavaScript library that provides the crop UI.
These CDNs may log the fact that your browser requested a file (as any CDN does), including your IP address at the time of the request. This is standard for CDN operation and is governed by the respective CDN's privacy policy.
7. Data Retention
Because we do not receive your images or your personal information, there is nothing to retain. Aggregate analytics data is retained by our analytics provider according to their retention policy (typically 12 months for aggregate view counts). Email correspondence is retained for as long as it is useful for reference or is required by law, whichever is shorter.
8. Children
The tool is a general-purpose image cropper with no age-specific features and no age-restricted content. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and there is no personal information collection built into the tool at all. If a parent or guardian believes we have somehow received personal information from a child, please contact us and we will investigate.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California), or similar privacy legislation elsewhere. These typically include the right to know what personal information is held about you, the right to have it deleted, and the right to object to certain processing.
Because we do not collect personal information as part of using the tools, there is generally nothing for us to disclose or delete. If you have contacted us by email and want your email thread deleted, request it at legal@pfp-cropper.com and we will remove it.
10. Changes to This Policy
If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Substantive changes (something that would materially change what data is handled) will be summarized in a changelog at the bottom of this page for six months after the change.
